Message from Father Richard: Messy Church
October’s Messy Church is now confirmed for Monday October 7, from 5-7pm. Please feel free to arrive any time after 4.30 and we are planning supper to be over by shortly after 6.30 for those who may need to leave at that time. We will have activities for the children of the families that wish to remain until 7pm.
I look forward to hearing from you with respect to the change in day and the return to our traditional 5-7pm time slot.
Our theme for the day is Thanksgiving. I invite each family to bring non perishable food items that can form part of our Thanksgiving Sunday decorations. Items such as pasta, peanut butter, jams, beans, tuna, salmon, canned soups and vegetables, cereals, baby foods, and anything else that you may think of. After Thanksgiving all items will be taken to our local Food Bank and any perishable goods to The Mission.
For those children who will be at church on Thanksgiving Sunday you are invited to bring your food donations to church then and place them in front of the altar as part of our service of Thanksgiving.
I know that many families have pets and we have a special service on October 6 to which you are invited to bring your pet or pets (suitably leashed or crated) for our annual “Blessing of the Animals” service. Each pet will be blessed by name at the altar during the service.
Please do not hesitate to get in touch with me if you have any questions or concerns regarding any of the above.
I look forward to seeing you soon,
Blessings and peace,
Father Richard
